Community Events

Member led studies of the Torah. 

Guest speakers have included Reverend Malcolm Weisman, Minister for Small Communities; and Reverend Elkan Levy, former Director of the Office for Small Communities.

The Synagogue Library collection covers a range of topics of Jewish interest, with an interesting selection on Israel. The library also holds copies of The Jewish Quarterly and the Chief Rabbi's Journal. All books may be borrowed by Members of the Congregation. The Library is open by appointment.

Trips to local and national venues to enjoy theatre and opera. 

Recent trips have included Fiddler on the Roof and The Gondoliers.

Some wonderful musical events have been held in the Synagogue. 

Klezmerish, composed of classically trained musicians, delighted their Cheltenham audience with the music of immigrants from all kinds of musical and cultural backgrounds who left their homelands in pursuit of a better life.

The London Klezmer Quartet played the celebratory and soulful music of the East European Jews. They also captivated their audience with exuberant and accomplished performances.

Welcoming celebration held n the Second night of Pesach. Members and guests come together for a shared reading of the Haggadah, embracing traditional requirements and customs, alongside a catered festival meal. 

Celebration of Chanukah with cmmunal lighting of Menorahs, music and a hot dog supper with latkes. 

Annual summer gathering to celebrate the founding of the community. Members, families, and friends come together to mark this milestone over a relaxed brunch.
